Artistic works are a form of devotion and a longing to connect with the very source of art itself, while also fulfilling human needs in daily life. Hindu art is derived from the sacred Vedic scriptures, with specific art forms (such as expression, song, drama, and sentiment) originating from different Vedas.

Artistic creativity is synonymous with religion, particularly in Hindu communities in Bali, where various art forms (dance, music, visual arts, voice) support the execution of rituals. Sacred art, which functions as an accompaniment to ceremonies, is created through a process involving religious initiation and sacralization, thus being believed to possess magico-religious power. The relationship between art and religion is so intimate that it becomes difficult to distinguish between religious practice and artistic performance. Art is also viewed as a symbol of Satyam (Truth), Siwam (Purity), and Sundharam (Beauty), and serves as a medium to facilitate the expression of devotion to God. Through the concept of Ngayah (selfless service), art is offered sincerely as a form of dedication. The preservation of sacred art, especially among the younger generation, is crucial for maintaining its continuity as part of Hindu identity and spirituality.
2025-12-11T03:33:19+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://mail.ejournal.iahntp.ac.id/index.php/WK/article/view/1782Tantangan dan Strategi Pelestarian Tradisi Hindu Kaharingan Di Era Modernisasi2025-12-11T03:37:08+00:00Rupiadi Rupiadirupiadi6503@gmail.comI Gede Arya Juni Artaaryaskeptisisme@gmail.com
This study aims to comprehensively analyze the various challenges in preserving the Hindu Kaharingan tradition in Central Kalimantan amidst the rapid currents of globalization and modernization. Using a literature study method that examines previous research, the findings reveal that globalization has led to a decline in youth participation in ritual activities, a shift in spiritual values, and a transformation of local lifestyles toward more modern and pragmatic orientations. Nevertheless, the study specifically shows that the preservation of the Hindu Kaharingan tradition can still be sustained through the reinforcement of local wisdom values within formal and non-formal education systems, the optimization of the roles of traditional and religious leaders as cultural preservation agents, and the effective utilization of information technology and social media as tools for education and the dissemination of traditional values among the younger generation. Therefore, a collaborative and adaptive preservation strategy—through the synergy between local culture and technological advancement—has proven to be an effective approach to ensuring the continuity and relevance of the Hindu Kaharingan tradition in the modern era.
2025-12-11T03:32:51+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://mail.ejournal.iahntp.ac.id/index.php/WK/article/view/1557THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE ROLE OF FEMALE SANGIANG CRAFTSMEN IN THE GENDER MAINSTREAMING OF CENTRAL KALIMANTAN2025-12-11T03:37:08+00:00Kunti Ayu Vedantikuntijajan@gmail.com
Marginalization and discrimination against women still occur and are inversely proportional to the need for inclusive gender participation in Indonesia's development. Elections are political contests that have the potential to pose challenges. From a historical perspective, Kresna in the Mahābhārata epic is described as being able to deal with the political turmoil that occurred in the country of Bharata. Through a cultural approach, Krishna's character can be correlated with the dynamics of elections. Based on this background, three research questions are presented: The Division of Stories in the Mahabharata, Krishna's Political Stance, and Krishna's Exemplary Behavior in Facing Post-Election Dynamics. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a historical and philosophical hermeneutic approach. Data and information sources are taken from literature studies and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman type. This research was able to describe the results that Krishna's political stance can be used as a model so that the Indonesian people can be brave, neutral, peaceful, and become smart voters in the post-election dynamics. The purpose of the research is directed as a guideline in maintaining a situation that is willing to accept the results, remain calm, and harmonious.
2025-12-11T03:30:40+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://mail.ejournal.iahntp.ac.id/index.php/WK/article/view/1796FILSAFAT ARTHUR SCHOPENHAUER DALAM PERSPEKTIF AGAMA HINDU2025-12-11T03:37:09+00:00Ni Made Devi Pebrianimadepebriani@gmail.com
This study aims to examine the relationship and relevance between Arthur Schopenhauer’s philosophy and Hindu spiritual teachings, particularly as presented in the Bhagavadgītā. The research employs a library research approach using qualitative methods and a hermeneutic-philosophical framework. This approach is applied to interpret the texts and conceptual meanings in depth, both in Schopenhauer’s philosophy and in the metaphysical teachings of the Bhagavadgītā. The analysis reveals essential similarities between Schopenhauer’s idea of the denial of the will (Willensverneinung) as a path to liberation from suffering, and the Hindu concept of liberation (mokṣa) through knowledge and detachment from worldly attachments (vairāgya). Both are based on the understanding that suffering originates from desire and individual ego, and that liberation can only be attained through a transformation of consciousness toward a reality that transcends duality. However, a fundamental difference lies in the theological context: Schopenhauer rejects the concept of a personal God and emphasizes the immanent metaphysical aspect of reality, whereas the Bhagavadgītā positions Brahman as the ultimate consciousness, both transcendent and immanent. The study concludes that Schopenhauer’s philosophical thought can be understood as a rational reflection that resonates with the mystical-metaphysical dimension of Hindu teachings. This demonstrates a universal convergence between ethical, aesthetic, and spiritual principles that underpin thought in both Western philosophical traditions and Eastern spirituality.
2025-12-11T03:28:18+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://mail.ejournal.iahntp.ac.id/index.php/WK/article/view/1779Bentuk, Fungsi, dan Makna Upacara Manenung di Desa Tumbang Baringei Kecamatan Rungan Kabupaten Gunung Mas2025-12-11T03:37:10+00:00I Wayan Sindia Griya Danikadana.danikadas@gmail.comYoga Yogayoga365@gmail.comNurlensi Nurlensinurlensi1974@gmail.com
This study aims to describe the form, function, and meaning of the Manenung ceremony in the Hindu Kaharingan community of Tumbang Baringei Village, Rungan District, Gunung Mas Regency. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants consisted of three Basir/Pisor (spiritual leaders) and two Hindu Kaharingan religious figures. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model involving reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the Manenung ceremony is performed through preparatory stages, chanting of sacred mantras, and the invocation of the holy spirit Putir Santang. The ceremony functions religiously as a means of spiritual communication, socially as a medium of community solidarity, and educationally as a vehicle for transmitting cultural values. The symbolic meanings embedded in ritual instruments such as amak purun, baliung, tengang, and behas tawur reflect cosmic harmony between humans, nature, and the divine. This tradition remains relevant in preserving the cultural identity and spirituality of the Dayak Kaharingan community amid modernization, serving as a vital source of moral guidance and local wisdom.
2025-12-11T03:24:36+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##
